Academy Award® Nominee for Best Documentary

Trouble the Water

As hurricane Katrina approached New Orleans in August 2005, Kimberly Rivers Roberts, along with her husband, Scott Roberts, Trouble The Water saw an opportunity to reveal a reality of this historic city seldom seen by the rest of the nation. Kim’s breathtaking footage of howling winds and rising waters documents the force of the storm; her insightful observations of the aftermath expose the man-made disaster of poverty and neglect that left New Orleans’ most vulnerable residents stranded amidst troubled waters long before Katrina.

Kim’s story has been featured in the award-winning documentary, Trouble the Water. The next step is to build upon the awareness generated by the film by entreating our neighbors throughout the nation to reach out to struggling New Orleans communities.
